New Certification Updates for February
1. According to requirement of Argentina ENACOM, mandatory local testing for all WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE) devices will be required starting March 1st, 2022.
2. The Mexico IFT categorized applications into three types. All certificates are permanent but Type B and Type C certificates requires maintainance actions to remain valid. Additionally, IFT also updated the PEC procedure, allowing importers to be listed on one Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and only accepting modifications to information such as certificate holder, certificate holder address, importer list, HS Code and oirgin.The effective date is June 29th, 2022, and does not apply to already issued certificates.
3. The Brazil ANATEL issued two new Acts, they are Act 423/2022 (Updates Act 14448) and Act 237/2022(Revokes Act 6506 and included test procedures for different device).
4. The Jordan Telecommunications Regulation Commission (TRC) updated Short Range Device (SRD) bands.
5. With the 3G network phased out at the end of 2021, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published the guidance for 3G devices that also support 2G, 4G, 5G.
6. Starting February 1st, 2022, Decision No. 130 on the procedure for importing products subject to mandatory conformity assessment into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will go into effect. When products are imported to EAEU, the local importer should provide a paper copy of the product’s EAC CoC or EAC DoC, with seal and signature of the applicant, to the customs.
