New Certification Updates for May
1. The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTIT) ultimately updated the certificate validity to 2 years; this is effective now.
2. According to SDPPI announcement No.213/DJSDPPI.5/SP.04.09/04/2022, all HKT products (smartphone, handheld computer, tablet) and WIFI (MIFI) modem with LTE/5G NR technologies are mandatory to fulfill TKDN (local component) requirement, with a minimum domestic content level of 35% starting April 18th, 2022.
3. On March 3rd, 2022, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has updated Annexure 2, stating the certificate/report rules of products including general fixed LED luminaires.
4. Starting May 2nd, 2022, Residential Gateways and home routers all need to comply with Security Requirements IMDA TS RG-SEC and have both IMDA certification as well as Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) label, existing products not in compliance are not to be sold.
5. The Nicaraguan Institute of Telecommunications and Postal Services (TELCOR) published a new regulation for Short Range Devices (SRD) and Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN).
6. On April 15th, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Board decided to postpone the EAEU technical regulation "On the requirements for the energy efficiency of energy-consuming devices" (EAEU TR 048/2019) from September 1st, 2022 to September 1st, 2025.
7. The Russian Federation Government issued Resolution No. 353 with the main points including that, EAC and GOST certificates and declarations which expire between March 14th, 2022 and September 1st, 2022, are automatically extended for 12 months. These products can be released only in territory of the Russian Federation, and EAC mark should not be put on such products.
