The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added one new Substance (Benzo[def]chrysene) out of the four recommended substance to be included in the Candidate List of Very High Concern (SVHCs) on 20, June 2016. (±)-1,7,7-trimethyl-3-[(4-methylphenyl) methylene] bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-2-one (4-methylbenzylidene camphor) , 1,7,7-trimethyl-3-(phenyl methylene) bicyclo [2.2.1]heptan-2-one (3-benzylidene camphor) and Dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP) have not been added to the Candidate List. With the newly updating, the Candidate List now contains a total of 169 substances.

Legal Obligations of Companies
Producers and exporters of articles containing any of the SVHC candidates shall notify ECHA if both of the following conditions apply:
i. the substance is present in those articles in quantities totaling over on tonne per producer or exporter per year, and
ii. the substance is present in those articles above a concentration of 0.1% weight by weight.
