Maritime transport emits around 1,000 million tons of CO2 annually and is

2013, the European Commission proposed a strategy for progressively integrating
maritime emissions into the EU's policy for reducing its domestic GHG emissions.
After a two-year legislative process involving all EU institutions, this strategy was
adopted by the European Parliament in April 2015. The Regulation 2015/757
('Shipping MRV Regulation') came into force on 1 July 2015.The EU requires
operators of ships exceeding 5,000 GT to monitor and report their carbon
emissions and transport work on all voyages to, from and between EU ports.
It requires all ships over 5,000 GY calling at EU ports from 1 January 2018
to collect and report verified annual data on CO2 emissions and other relevant
information. And Shipping companies shall submit Monitoring Plan to verifiers
before 31th Aug.2017according to the schedule.
The accreditation certificate, with its issue No: 001 , allows CTI to be the first-tier to help shipping companies to perform assessments for Monitoring, Reporting
and Verification in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/757.
